Scalp Cleansers

Some try to blame hair loss on “clogged pours” and advocate special scalp cleansers alone or in combination

with herbal remedies and/or Minoxidil. Androgenetic Alopecia is believed to be caused by a combination of genetics, hormones, and time and scalp cleanliness is not a factor. There is no good evidence that any scalp cleanser is effective at combating hair loss.

Laser Treatment

Some advocate low level laser treatment of the scalp as a way to stimulate the scalp and/or hair to improve hair growth and reduce hair loss. FDA trials are underway but it would be prudent to wait for the results of those trials before investing your time, money and effort into low level laser treatment.
